The “Leibniz Fast Calculation Competition (LFCC)”, organized by the Collaborative Research Centre 1368 (CRC-1368) “Oxygen-free Production”, invites researchers, scientists, and computational enthusiasts worldwide to participate in the upcoming international competition focused on accelerating diffusion calculations in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. This event challenges participants to develop innovative and efficient methods for simulating the diffusion of copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) under oxygen-free conditions, utilizing advanced molecular dynamics (MD) techniques.
Participants will have access to a case study template, a LAMMPS input file for diffusion studies, and detailed documentation covering software installation (LAMMPS and OVITO) and data management guidelines aligned with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles.
Final submissions will be peer-reviewed based on key criteria: accuracy, computational speed, scalability, and innovation. Contributions that comply with FAIR principles will be published in the Open Research Knowledge Graph (orkg.org), encouraging transparency and collaboration within the scientific community.
