SWZ-Ringvorlesung am 23. Februar 2026

Emad Jacob Maroun spricht über das Thema "Scry: The Future-Oriented Instruction Set Architecture".

Am 23.2.2026 wird Emad Jacob Maroun von der TDU (Technical University of Denmark) ab 13 Uhr im Seminarraum 102 des Hörsaalgebäudes des Instituts für Informatik im Rahmen der SWZ-Ringvorlesung über das Thema "Scry: The Future-Oriented Instruction Set Architecture" sprechen.

Gäste sind zu dem Vortrag herzlich eingeladen.

Inhalt des Vortrags:

Instruction set architectures (ISAs) define the interface between hardware and software. The fundamental design of contemporary ISAs has been largely unchanged since the 1980’s. However, processor implementations have greatly evolved and must now contend with slow memory and energy budgets. Scry is a novel ISA that aims to increase the performance and efficiency of modern processors by providing them with as much information about the future as possible. This presentation will cover the challenges of modern processors and how Scry addresses them. It will present the design of Scry and how its assembly language works. The Scry ISA software simulator, Scryer, is also presented, with a discussion of how its design promotes scalable testability.
